Tripadvisor, the world's leading online travel platform, has announced its list of the top 25 natural destinations in its Travelers’s Choice Best of the Best Destinations awards. Ha Long Bay in Vietnam ranked second on the list of the best natural destinations in the world for 2024. This is a prestigious annual award that recognizes destinations that receive the highest ratings and reviews from the community, showing excellence in tourism.
Ha Long Bay, located in Quang Ninh province, is known to both domestic and foreign tourists as one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. It not only has emerald waters and nearly 2,000 limestone islands in many amazing shapes, but also mystical caves like Hang Dau Go, Sung Sot Cave, and Thien Cung Cave. Hundreds of limestone islands come in different forms and integrate beautiful caves within.
Ha Long Bay is also a hub of biodiversity with a rich ecosystem. Most recently, on September 16, 2023, UNESCO recognized the Ha Long Bay - Bai Tu Long area as a World Natural Heritage site in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It contains beautiful natural areas including forest-covered limestone islands and limestone peaks jutting out from the sea, along with related karst features like domes and caves. This world natural heritage recognized by UNESCO has added attraction for those interested in sports like hiking, swimming, scuba diving, boating and mountain climbing.
